Top Family Vacation Spots For Summer 2017
When summertime comes along, a certain sense of peace comes along with a lighter workload. Then the kids get out of school, and the dream is shattered! There is no sense in spending the whole summer at home. Get the family out of the house and travel. Not only is it fun, but it teaches the children cultural awareness.
Even if it seems a bit too close to begin budgeting for a great family adventure, there is still time to plan a fun vacation that will not break the bank. Take a second to look over this quick summary of a few of the most family-friendly travel destinations in America.
Animal-Centric Family Vacations
If the family is comprised of animal lovers, an animal-centric family vacation to San Diego, California is in order. San Diego hosts several fantastic family-centered adventures as it is the home of the San Diego Zoo (and complimentary Safari Park), Seaworld, and a thriving Craft brew scene for the adults.
San Diego may not be the most inexpensive destination, but it is not entirely out of reach. A seven-day pass that will grant access to all three parks (the Zoo, Seaworld, and Safari Park) will cost around a hundred bucks per kid and $150 for each adult.
The best hotel to reserve is right on the beach. Their Splash & Stay packages start around $300, and it will give the kids a great excuse to use their newly acquired Nerf Blasters. The Omni La Costa is a kid-friendly hotel, equipped with a pool that has water slides!
Sunset Bay State Park in Coos Bay, Oregon hosts a great yurt adventure for families. Camping is always way more fun in a yurt. The kids will enjoy just saying the word, “yurt,” over and over again. The campground is run by the kids, and there is certainly plenty to explore.
Whale watching, tide pools, and plenty of swimming will be on the family to do list. Older children can go on a family hike along the four-mile Oregon Coast. Visit Cape Arago State Park to enjoy even more of nature’s beauty.
Renting a family yurt in the park will only cost around $40 per day in the peak season (even less in the off season), which is much cheaper than a traditional hotel room. Plus, a yurt sleeps five comfortable, while a hotel room will only sleep four.
Best Amusement Park Getaway
What could be better than taking the whole family to Orlando’s Disney World? The park has been thriving and alive for many many years. Due to its longevity, Disney World continually offers package deals, especially for families. It is not uncommon to grab up an excellent trip package for less than $500 all-inclusive.
